Keep the master refresh separate from the V3-to-V4 lossless-conversion and
checkpoint JSON fixes so the release baseline and each feature change remain
independently reviewable. This checkpoint extends the already-published
4435f6f519 merge before the #4583 child is rebased.
Integrate exactly master 5ec3ffe337062ab5bb4955933008afe8d0a0b915. Its #4156
changes add watched file/document refresh, filesystem watch readiness,
directory expansion restoration, and chat bottom-follow fixes. They update
shared filesystem and Client consumers without changing Session format or
snapshot generation.
The merge has no conflicts. Its 114-file scope and line counts match upstream;
code and prose additions/removals are unchanged. Only the two translation
pairing records incorporate the release branch's retained V4 documentation.
Validation: 762 owner tests passed (1 platform skip), 11 focused Web tests
passed, full build passed, and all 41 doc-sync checks passed. Runtime closure
and Client package checks passed; fs-local publint completed with the existing
source-wildcard export warning.
Give durable user context its producer-owned source kind instead of a generic plugin wrapper. The V3-to-V4 conversion preserves the frozen rename and collision rules, all own JSON metadata, event coordinates, and historical request-only kinds. Native catalog and JSONL admission retain source validation so unknown attribution can survive without its producer while malformed owned sources are refused.
Use an explicit user-only RequestUserInput for auxiliary LLM prompts that do not own durable message identity. Auto Review and compaction remove their request-only source registrations while retaining prompt content and freezing; provider serializers and projections keep the same wire data, assistant replay isolation, image ordering, and tool correlation. Session writes, Agent delivery, and recorded title requests continue to require identified durable messages.
Bind the saved compatibility policy only to user sources and qualify tmux location attribution without weakening fixed system, model, or tool semantics. Rebuild the current inventory and unpublished V4 acknowledgement on the actual tool-role parent, preserving its rationale and all accepted historical records. The catalog format version records tooling metadata; Session remains V4. Developer-role policy and activation belong to their own feature.
The latest-master Messages adapter, serialization, request-input typing, EpochHeader reservation, and attribution checks pass 103 tests across five files. The retained V3 Messages input-history snapshot passes through the source profile; Host/Client typechecks and all 41 documentation gates pass. The generated comparison records four changed roots and 447 unchanged type fingerprints. Latest-master ARIA changes are retained, with producer source labels applied independently; new Messages fixtures retain their producer names as declared source kinds and use the fixed system-message helper; recorded Session generations are unchanged by this regrouping.

A repository whose baseline snapshot failed records nothing instead of
degrading to a file-tool summary; the write tool persists whether it
created or updated, so an unchanged overwrite outside snapshot coverage
no longer counts its content as added; hunks inside nested repositories
are dropped before check-ignore, which refused them with exit 128 and
lost the whole turn; a temporary root inside the work tree keeps the
recorder's own directory out of the snapshots; numstat keeps tabs in
file names; the summary carries line totals over the uncapped list and
the snapshot tree ids; the client's summary store abandons reads that
began before a connection reset. Docs and fixtures follow.
Both Host packages hand the turn's deliverables to the user and neither
is a filesystem capability, so they leave packages/fs for a new
packages/deliverables group. The Client package stays at
packages/client/ui-deliverables. Paths in tsconfig references and
aliases, gates, generated catalogs, READMEs, and the implemented notes
follow the move; archived notes and released schema records stay as
written.
The packed worker deployment offers no realpathSync.native at plugin load, so
the home and temporary roots are now canonicalized asynchronously when a
Session first locates its repository. Windows-neutral tests replace chmod
and POSIX-only path expectations, and the right-Sidebar scenario enters
through the closing prose's file mention.
Review round fixes: a write that creates a file persists no hunks and
str_replace_editor persists none at all, so mutation calls now contribute
hunks from their arguments when the result carries none; each turn owns a
state object so a record still running for an interrupted turn cannot be
reset by the next turn; git add accepts exit code 1 from --ignore-errors;
rev-parse failures other than a missing repository fail loud; only a missing
index or store is tolerated; the temporary-root exclusion uses the repository
root; a row without a verified Host path previews in the Sidebar. The
recorded scenario now creates an ignored file.
Map @deepseek-ai/dsh-workspace-changes/types to src so the persistence catalog
links source instead of built output, and document every exported function
and recorder method.
Write every snapshot blob and tree into a per-repository object directory
under DSH_HOME/workspace-changes with the repository's objects attached as a
read-only alternate, so the user's repository gains no objects and the Harness
owns retention through objectStoreMaxBytes. The placement follows the
workspace change journal POC and costs nothing measurable.
Drop the shadow repository tier: a working directory outside any git
repository records nothing and the card stays absent, because a configured
exclude list cannot replace a missing .gitignore reliably. Seed a committed
repository in a new keyless Web scenario so the recorded turn exercises the
recorder, and retire the produced-files row from the affected goldens.
Add the dsh-workspace-changes Host plugin that snapshots the working tree at
turn start and end through a private git index, diffs the two trees, folds in
file-tool hunks for ignored and out-of-tree files, and appends a log-only
workspace/changes event. The Web deliverables plugin renders that event as the
changed-files card in place of the mutation-call row, with default-app and
common-folder opening through a new authenticated route.
