The per-platform failover repository variables (DSH_CI_FAILOVER_LINUX and
DSH_CI_FAILOVER_WINDOWS) accept a third value alongside the existing
selfhosted routing. Set by a repository writer, the value retargets the
always-on pull-request and master lanes onto the matching hosted-runner
labels (16-core pools map to the 16-vCPU tier, standard legs to 4-vCPU);
unset or any other value keeps today's runners, so the leg is dormant until
a writer opts in - a canary path for capacity fallback, never the default.
Participating jobs: the three enterprise Linux workers, the node-compat
legs, the four Windows lanes, and the all-checks-passed verdict in ci.yml;
expected-filenames; the sandbox bwrap leg; and the two manual benchmark
matrices (4-32 vCPU tiers map to equivalents; 64/96-core rows keep the
fleet labels). Everything pinned to its own runner by spec, credential, or
host capability keeps it under every value, and the release-shaped chains
stay entirely hosted. request-review.yml was retired on master while this
work was in flight and the branch takes the deletion.
Specs pin the new branches: ci-workflow.spec.ts asserts the labels appear
in the extended selectors, and ci-compatible-selfhosted.spec.ts evaluates
the routing mode.
apps/cli/cordis.yml now bakes in the production OTLP endpoint; CI boots of
the web composition (e2e, snapshots, built smokes) must not stream test
sessions there. DSH_TELEMETRY_DISABLED=1 at the workflow level disables
the telemetry row before its load-time url validation; the telemetry e2e
still runs — it overrides the variable to empty for its child process and
points DSH_TELEMETRY_OTLP_URL at its in-test collector.
Review follow-up on the symmetric-cache conversion: provisioning and
caching are separable concerns, so the remaining 8 corepack enable
sites (the three enterprise restore-only PR jobs, the required Windows
job, serial-macos/serial-windows, the cache-less ci.yml jobs, and
sandbox.yml) now provision pnpm via pnpm/action-setup@v4 too — only
the provisioning line moves; every deliberate cache shape (enterprise
restore-only pairing, serial-linux producer, Windows cache-less) is
byte-preserved. corepack is gone from CI entirely.
Agent Note retitled to the decision's real shape (provisioning policy,
with caching as per-job policy on top), EN+ZH, pair re-recorded;
composite-action and stop-at-cache-workflows alternatives recorded.
ctx.sandbox (dsh-sandbox): confine(argv, policy) returns the argv to spawn
instead — wrapped so the process and its children run confined — plus the
enforcement completeness and the backend denial/runner-failure dialects;
no usable backend throws the fail-closed SANDBOX_UNAVAILABLE. Policy rides
per call. dsh-sandbox-local selects by platform and caches the verdict:
multi-candidate chains probe FUNCTIONALLY in preference order (Linux:
bwrap → the registry-installed node-addon-landlock-run launcher), a sole
candidate is selected unprobed (darwin: sandbox-exec/Seatbelt) and fails
closed at execution via runnerFailureSignatures; win32 is a reserved empty
chain. Profile parity is honest per backend (documented temp-area and ABI
differences; enforcement full|partial is a structured result fact).
CI: the sandbox-e2e matrix proves real-kernel confinement per rung (bwrap,
Landlock per architecture through the registry-installed launcher,
Seatbelt), failing on a silent all-skip; the packed-install rehearsal
installs the launcher family from the registry and asserts the binary
executable apart from kernel enforcement.
