Integrate the observed master checkpoint 7ab215e23e5d977aae7eb5d4fb91782d39969dbb without rewriting the earlier published checkpoints. Master adds current-directory events, directory-aware consumers, and retained Git worktrees; its old subagent startup paths overlapped the unified activation implementation.
Resolve directory selection within managed startup after acquiring parent ownership. Preserve the original Session origin while setting each new local child directory, retain persisted directory state on cold resume, and pass a required absolute cwd to external providers. Keep unified local/external ownership, full completion notices, parked-input host completion, SDK wait/error/shutdown behavior, and ACP cancellation semantics. Retain removal of the old in-process driver and continuation managers.
Combine SDK wait with the new directory requests, preserve the new master directory/worktree fixtures, regenerate derived catalogs from the combined sources, and refresh only the four stale prompt/schema sidecars. Preserve every protected historical schema, archived note, catalog-v2 acknowledgement, and recorded predecessor input.
Validation: full build; 59 CI static gates; 855 subagent tests with 100% coverage on changed core/external sources; affected consumer suites including 119 repaired-fixture tests; SDK 11 and headless 16 recorded scenarios; two local headless expected cases; six built nested SDK/ACP cases; lint, strict cast inventory, workspace constraints, and whitespace checks. Native Windows worker diagnostics remain additive and require the next CI run to classify the original crash.
Caller delivery previously suppressed both settlement messages and local
catalog membership. Workflows therefore stopped publishing the durable
parent-child edge that the parent header and recursive discovery require.
The workflow panel only opens running members, and the ordinary sidebar
hides subagent Sessions, so completed workflow transcripts had no normal
navigation path even though their logs still existed.
Record every successfully admitted local child in its parent's catalog,
independently of the result recipient. Membership answers which local
Sessions belong to the parent; delivery answers who consumes this activation's
result. Keeping those decisions separate restores completed-child and
descendant discovery without duplicating workflow completion messages or
adding return guidance to caller-owned work. Publication failures retain
the existing rollback transaction for both delivery modes.
These local children intentionally retain the unified continuable mode:
list_agents includes them, the parent catalog opens their transcripts after
reload, and the existing direct-parent controls can cold-resume them. No
one-shot execution path or additional lifecycle state is introduced.
Caller-owned external executions still use their consumer's membership
records because they have no local Session to open.
Update the existing bilingual service/workflow documentation and decision
records, refresh the owning workflow/Ralph/advanced Session recordings and
Python SDK event expectations, and preserve unrelated recorded stream times.
Validation:
- Full repository build passed.
- 443 subagent, workflow-host, and Ralph tests; 14 list_agents tests passed.
- Four focused headless workflow/advanced snapshot refreshes and replays passed.
- Three shipped-Web workflow tests passed, including completed-child catalog
navigation after reload and the continuable composer.
- Python SDK advanced and scheduler-recovery snapshots refreshed and replayed
through the built dsh CLI with Python 3.12.
- Three discovery regressions fail with the original catalog exclusion and
pass after restoring this fix.
- test:docs (20 gates), doc-sync (42 gates), lint:contracts-ready, Host and
Client TypeScript builds, and git diff --check passed.
Convert an unknown legacy plugin wrapper such as
{kind: 'plugin', plugin: 'acme'} into {kind: 'plugin:acme'}, retaining the
complete plugin name after one prefix. Keep the existing explicit
first-party producer renames and preserve all non-identity metadata.
A direct source already records its producer in kind. Reclassifying
unknown direct kinds into plugin:source:<name> needlessly changes that
attribution and forces plugin consumers to adopt new identifiers even
though V4 accepts their existing representation. Return every valid
direct source unchanged, including already-prefixed names. Remove the
obsolete direct-kind table and two-category identity helper rather than
adding collision classification or another mapping layer.
Update the source conversion examples, codec/restore regressions, and
native fixture producers together. Refresh only the owning Python
advanced scenario's unshipped V4 outputs; preserve historical V0-V3
recordings and their generation selection. Event names, content tags,
and ToolSchema migration remain separate concerns.
Refs #2692
V3 permits external event, source and content identities and additional
request-tool fields. Copying those values into V4 can give an old plugin
named tool a core source identity, turn old tool-addition content into a
registry instruction, or activate formerly ignored deferLoading and delivery
metadata. Rejecting such collisions would instead refuse valid source logs.
Keep historical extensions in the existing extensible JSON representation.
Prefix unknown content and ignorable event tags with plugin:, preserving
all other content fields and opaque event payloads. Prefix external source
identities with plugin:plugin: or plugin:source: so wrapper and direct kinds
cannot collide even when original names already contain a category prefix.
Known first-party mappings remain explicit and unchanged.
Prefix extra request-tool field names and block-start field names with
plugin:, retaining exact values and existing-prefix doubling. Core schema
parameters, arguments, replay state and nested plugin data are not traversed.
Keep future-generation delivery records inactive after header promotion.
Pin the V3 event vocabulary independently of the current writer and provide
an offline verifier against an explicitly selected historical source commit.
Attachment authorization and export inspect declared event content only.
Team checkpoints preserve all own keys of unknown JSON blocks while still
rejecting malformed known content and retired core tool-result blocks.
Exercise physical read/write/reopen, prefix injectivity, own __proto__ keys,
provider opacity and retained source-identity snapshots.
No generic extension block, metadata wrapper or new schema-tooling type is
introduced. V4 type declarations, persistence schema, checkpoint and frozen
V0-V3 codecs remain unchanged. Canonical tool-result lifting and incomplete
child-catalog policy remain separate concerns.

Give durable user context its producer-owned source kind instead of a generic plugin wrapper. The V3-to-V4 conversion preserves the frozen rename and collision rules, all own JSON metadata, event coordinates, and historical request-only kinds. Native catalog and JSONL admission retain source validation so unknown attribution can survive without its producer while malformed owned sources are refused.
Use an explicit user-only RequestUserInput for auxiliary LLM prompts that do not own durable message identity. Auto Review and compaction remove their request-only source registrations while retaining prompt content and freezing; provider serializers and projections keep the same wire data, assistant replay isolation, image ordering, and tool correlation. Session writes, Agent delivery, and recorded title requests continue to require identified durable messages.
Bind the saved compatibility policy only to user sources and qualify tmux location attribution without weakening fixed system, model, or tool semantics. Rebuild the current inventory and unpublished V4 acknowledgement on the actual tool-role parent, preserving its rationale and all accepted historical records. The catalog format version records tooling metadata; Session remains V4. Developer-role policy and activation belong to their own feature.
The latest-master Messages adapter, serialization, request-input typing, EpochHeader reservation, and attribution checks pass 103 tests across five files. The retained V3 Messages input-history snapshot passes through the source profile; Host/Client typechecks and all 41 documentation gates pass. The generated comparison records four changed roots and 447 unchanged type fingerprints. Latest-master ARIA changes are retained, with producer source labels applied independently; new Messages fixtures retain their producer names as declared source kinds and use the fixed system-message helper; recorded Session generations are unchanged by this regrouping.

Represent tool results as tool-role messages and migrate released wrappers
without losing outer own JSON fields, call identity, error state, or writer
field order. Refuse nested or wrapper-only information that has no lossless
current representation before successor publication.
Validate current event relationships directly instead of projecting V4 data
back into V3. Keep lifecycle, PTC, title/command, compaction, system-field and
retired-syntax checks on catalog restoration and ordinary JSONL opens. The
Worker JSON equality helper must inspect own keys so it cannot admit PTC
arguments that Node rejects.
Keep the source role change, required native admission and consumer fixture
updates in one complete review layer. Explain shared-type changes in the
persistence record and the native reader rationale in its existing note.
Use checked branded fixture identities and discriminant narrowing instead
of unknown double casts; fixture values and assertions remain intact.
This recomposes the original tool-role work by _Kerman with the independently
validated migration and admission repairs by Tianyi Cui. Frozen generations
and snapshot input version selection are retained.

Closes#3515
Regenerate current Python Session expectations through the real macOS arm64 SEA executable built from fdd44667b4b496093e765af57d3751dfb917d834. The native writer emits session/title after request/header and request/context. Update only five current V3 logs; result.json, minimal/model-visible.json, and minimal-in-history/prompt-history.json regenerate identically. All five V2 predecessors remain byte-identical to b2b300f9.
Build evidence: LEFTHOOK=0 pnpm install --frozen-lockfile --offline; pnpm exec tsx scripts/build-exe-for-python-sdk.ts --targets node24-macos-arm64 (full build, no skip-build): passed. file dist-exe/deepseek-harness-sdk-runtime-macos-arm64: Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64.
Smoke evidence: export PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 PYTHONPATH=python/sdk/src:python/sdk-runtime/src; PY=/Users/cty/dsh-deploy/.agents/worktrees/sp-kv-sdk-evidence/tmp/py-sdk-venv/bin/python. For each scenario in sdk-snapshot sdk-restart sdk-minimal sdk-minimal-in-history, ran "$PY" scripts/smoke-python-runtime.py --exe dist-exe/deepseek-harness-sdk-runtime-macos-arm64 --scenario "$scenario" --update-snapshots, then the same command without --update-snapshots: all eight passed.
Helpers: PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 PYTHONPATH=python/sdk/src:python/sdk-runtime/src uv run --offline --no-project --python /Users/cty/.local/share/uv/python/cpython-3.14.5-macos-aarch64-none/bin/python3 --with pytest --with "pydantic>=2.12,<3" python -m pytest python/sdk/tests/test_smoke_model.py -q: 28 passed. git diff --quiet b2b300f9 -- "scripts/snapshots/python-sdk-single-exe/**/*.v2.jsonl" and git diff --cached --check passed. No source, migration, test, or launcher changes.
Refresh advanced and restart expectations through the final native packaged runtime. Synchronous request finalization places deferred fallback-title events after header/context in parent and child logs; expected SDK notifications must reflect that actual lifecycle instead of forcing the old incidental scheduling order.
Validation: the advanced mismatch was reproduced against the built macOS ARM64 executable, both owning scenarios refreshed, then the complete keyless --scenario all passed, including the new in-history prompt evidence and independent shell/file effects. No SDK runtime or normalizer behavior changes in this commit.
Compose the shared release branch PTC rename with the structural system-head migration in the existing V2-to-V3 stage. Audit source payloads and remap local coordinates before renaming dispatch vocabulary and owned plugin attribution; retain original message identities and generation-qualified references. Native V3 validation combines the same system and PTC lifecycle semantics through a private released-validation view.
Reuse the V3 row-admission owner in current JSONL scanning before recoverable-tail suppression, so malformed rows cannot hide retired required PTC tags or header.system. The new corruption-prefix regressions and all173 existing JSONL scanner tests pass. Combined migration/catalog/persistence suite:300 tests; executable V3 migration source has100% coverage. No released generation, prior migration implementation, shared release branch, benchmark or CI workflow is modified by this integration.
Regenerate advanced and restart expectations through the shipped macOS arm64 SEA runtime built from 0521815d45. Real delivery-accepted events now record sessionFormatVersion 3 in the five V3 logs and advanced SDK notifications. Restart result.json and requests.json regenerate identically. Preserve all five V2 predecessors byte-for-byte from b2b300f9; no production, migration, launcher, or test changes.
Evidence (macOS arm64): pnpm exec tsx scripts/build-exe-for-python-sdk.ts --targets node24-macos-arm64 passed, including the full pnpm build. file dist-exe/deepseek-harness-sdk-runtime-macos-arm64 reports Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64.

Earlier helper invocations lacked pytest or SDK imports; corrected environment passed without source changes. git diff --quiet b2b300f9 -- scripts/snapshots/python-sdk-single-exe/**/*.v2.jsonl and git diff --cached --check passed.
Restore all 147 historical canonical fixtures changed by the lower branch to exact shared base 220ff708e3628a9be46d9747d09af6d8cd742f0d bytes (145 V2 and two V0). All 180 committed V0/V1/V2 canonical files now have zero diff against that base, including unchanged Python, test-support and preview sources.
Preserve corrected lower writer bodies in 146 V3 successors across 119 owner directories: replace 135 unreleased V3 counterparts and add 11 siblings. Change only each copied Session header version; preserve all body bytes, raw model streams, inline images, IDs, references and historical delivery generation markers. Remove two unshipped V2 additions after creating their V3 sibling: record-suite/rec-pin and empty-response-retry-current.
Keep six explicitly historical snapshot owners pinned with no V3 sibling. Restore the two pre-step V0 record child sources without synthesizing current output. Fix seven embedded Session header versions in exactly five test-support behavior owners whose output filenames already select V3. Leave protocol expectations, shared references, sidecars, consumer scripts and production migration/normalization code untouched.
Validation: purpose-built temporary Python inventory and verifier checked 337 canonical headers, 3714 successor JSON rows, message roles, contiguous child roles, exact successor bodies, all 180 historical base bytes and zero git diff, noncanonical JSONL immutability, six retained owners and six unchanged preview fixtures. git diff --cached --check passed. Temporary generators removed. Strict migration, native refresh and replay remain pending parent integration; unsupported pre-step sources are reported separately.
The representation PR left child and restart recordings in the old header-system representation while the packaged writer emits system/message before entered user messages. Restart result expectations also retained standalone assistant/chunk notifications after the writer moved stream records into assistant/message. These are stale expected artifacts, not fields to erase in normalization.
Regenerate the owning advanced and restart scenarios through the native macOS ARM64 packaged dsh runtime. Retain messages, tool effects, typed feedback and packed streams; update only the missing system nodes and their sequence references, and remove obsolete standalone chunk notifications. The advanced parent result and parent session already match the writer after the rebase, so this commit changes only two child logs and the restart result/logs.
Validation: pnpm run build; pnpm exec tsx scripts/build-exe-for-python-sdk.ts --skip-build --targets=node24-macos-arm64; uv run --project python/sdk python scripts/smoke-python-runtime.py --scenario sdk-snapshot --exe dist-exe/deepseek-harness-sdk-runtime-macos-arm64 and the equivalent sdk-restart command each reproduced the mismatch, then passed with --update-snapshots and again without it. Both read-only reruns pass. Other native targets remain covered by exact-head CI.
Consolidate the representation-change PR and its rebase reconciliations into one baseline. Preserve the exact tree and keep the in-history feature in the dependent PR. Follow-up fixes remain separate.
Migrate the packaged-runtime smoke inventory from complete Cordis trees to the sdk profile plus ordered patches. Preserve the focused minimal and advanced behaviors, update the generated durable snapshots for explicit permission events and the smaller RunResult, and keep worker, MCP, ripgrep, PTY/editor, direct JSON-RPC, and real-provider coverage.
Add an installed-only external bundle scenario that invokes the wheel's dsh plugin command with a local file package, verifies profile manifest reconciliation, imports @deepseek-ai/cordis as a peer, asserts the packaged proxy returns the exact host Context instance, and proves its system-prompt contribution reaches the model. Migrate the repository source e2e and runnable minimal example to the same profile grammar.
